Before I begin my critical evaluation,
Meet your characters:

The charming and well groomed Sedgewick ,Young Heir to the Throne of Serenity. Accompanied by the kindred spirit that is the Little Princess Mina.

Mina, A Princess not in title,But in the ways that truly matter

And then there's the ever vivacious young Prince Louie and his token buddy Bartleby

Can't help but love these handsome little lads,eh? :D

And that,Dear children,Is the inception of their story....

Now onto the itty-gritty.
Conceptually,Not singularly unique.Nonetheless,It's an engaging one.
Contemporary Romance Fiction such as this,Where politics takes a heavy backdrop,Can often be sloppy in it's execution.
But much like Keira Cass's The Selection series,The whirlwind of romance and other more familial themes takes precedence over the established socio-economic structure,Thus mollifying any little nuances and queries that arise.
To sum it up, Not a political masterpiece. Not refined enough in its dramatic flair.
But,This story has a voice. No matter how generic,It shines through.
I can quite easily see this scripted into a Hollywood production shelved amongst the the teen blockbusters of today.
Or even as a sitcom alongside Twisted,Reign and OUAT.
Heck,A version of this story would make a stunning Disney animated film!

A dark and influential childhood with glimmers of kindness and carefree friendships
An abusive guardian
Tragic death of a parent who's last hour peppers our tear ducts.
Birth of 2 brothers,One Fair and Noble,The other Tamed and Cowardly.
Their lives and love would instigate a violent unleashing,Cumulating in a victorious pledge. But not without consequences and blood shed.

This would be a Disney film beyond just the the rudimentary surface,A Fairytale with it's layers unraveling. It's cinematic in it's own right.
Because the true vein to this story centres around the metamorphosis of its protagonists and poignant antagonists.
It plays with the insanity that has plagued the Tudors throughout history, and it attempts to explore the more psychological aspects to what makes the characters,in their most Revealing frame.
This book is a finished product, and for that alone,Any Writer should be proud.
Kindness Of Kings debuts the immense raw potential that Chelsea possesses.
Potential that Chelsea has refined into a dexterity and finesse that I've observed in her latest book,
Sinners & Saints (Review COMING SOON)
Not quite a Keeper,As atleast another editing screenover is required,But I m sated and not disappointed.

"Honorary" Mentions,Featuring, King Cauis

And yet some more of this!
